Puppets, Can You Imagine!

As with many items shared, the Heidelberg Church Of The Brethren worship service for the Advent season was an uplifting gathering; the least I may share is that a few puppets even attended.
It has been some time since I was last out to the Brethren church so I was very interested to see the challenges I may run into. Parking was plentiful so no problems there.  Upon entry, just as at Kralls Menonite, one must go up to the worship hall or down to the social hall.  They have a small platform elevator for one to step onto and press a button to go in the direction desired.
Worship was very nice with different individuals from various churches doing the readings. I make mention of “various” churches – the pastor leading the service took a survey of who was attending. I lost count as the number went above 10, representing Schaeffertown, Klinefeltersville, Newmanstown, Richland, and Myerstown, just to name a few.
And for those who love Choir, you would have had a wonderful time. There were over 30 people in the choir! I would estimate that to have been one-third of those in attendance. It was a pleasure hearing the ebb and flow between Bass-Tenor and Soprano-Alto.
And the Puppets – as part of the service, we had the attendance of six puppets to share what is important to them about the Christmas season. The Heidelberg youth reminded us all to keep in mind that God gave the greatest gift of his son. And there was the reminder to get some cookies from Grandma and Grandpa!
On that note, everyone went to the social hall for a wonderful time. And boy, did we have cookies!
